"Wi-Fi enabled" means that a device is capable of receiving and transmitting wireless signals through the use of a Wi-Fi network. Personal computers, mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras and video-game console systems are often Wi-Fi enabled.

A Wi-Fi-enabled device is capable of accessing the Internet via 5 GHz SHF and 2.4 GHz UHF radio waves when it is within the range of a wireless local area network, or WLAN. Wi-Fi service is offered to private homes and businesses and is often available in public areas such as libraries. Airports and hotels frequently offer free Wi-Fi to attract customers, as do restaurants and coffee shops.
