Manage items in the printing queue in Windows 8 by using the built-in printing queue application. It can cancel and pause some or all of the items in the queue.
To access the tool, right click the bottom-left corner of the screen and then click Run. Type Control Printers in the run field and hit Enter. Once Windows opens a window titled Devices and Printers, find the printer you want the manage the printing queue of and right click. Choose See What's Printing from the menu to open the printing queue application.
The applications shows all items in the printing queue. You can cancel or pause an individual print order by right clicking them, or cancel all print orders by clicking Printer on the menu tab. If Windows does not react to commands given to the application, a more advanced approach is required.
Right click the bottom-left corner of the screen and open Command Prompt (Admin). This opens a command prompt with administrative privileges. Type "Net Stop Spooler" and hit Enter. Then type "del %systemroot%\System32\spool\printers\* /Q" and hit Enter. Finally, restart the spooler by typing Net Start Spooler.
The second method resets the entire queue and deletes every order sent to the printer. As such, make sure you have a copy of the files you tried to print. It is not possible to retrieve a print order after deleting it.
