Some types of pit bull bloodlines include Razor's Edge, Gotti or Gotty, Remyline, Monster G, Kingpin, Mikeland, Greyline, Gaff, Ganghis Kon, Royal and Watchdog. These are lines of pit bulls that have been bred for specific physical traits or attributes.

Each pit bull bloodline has a different history. For example, the Gotty or Gotti bloodline of pit bulls was started in 1997, and it contains descendants of "The Notorious Juan Gotty," a pit bull from a kennel in Los Angeles. Pit bulls from this bloodline may actually be a mix of the American Staffordshire Terrier and the Mastiff.

Razor Edge Pit bulls are a fairly new breed, and these dogs were originally bred for companionship. This bloodline may be a cross between the American Pit bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier and other mixes.

Contrary to popular belief, the term pit bull does not refer to a single breed of dog. Instead, like hound, it is a term that refers to at least three breeds, including the American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Other dog breeds that are sometimes mistakenly considered to be pit bulls include Boxers, American Bulldogs, Olde English Bulldogges, Presa Canarios and Blue Blood Bulldogs.
