Some of the easiest bread recipes are no-knead breads that use minimal ingredients such as flour, water, instant yeast and salt. Combine 1/4 teaspoon of instant yeast and 1 1/4 teaspoons of salt with three cups of flour in a large bowl, along with 1 5/8 cups of lukewarm water.

Once all of the ingredients have been stirred until they are well combined, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest for 12 to 18 hours at room temperature. Visible bubbles form at the dough's surface when it's ready to be shaped into a loaf. Dust a work surface with flour and place the dough on top, folding it over on itself one or two times. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and allow it to sit for 15 minutes before shaping the dough into a ball.

Cover the loaf with a cotton towel that's been dusted with flour and let the loaf rise for two hours, or until it doubles its original size. Use a sharp knife to make three slashes on top of the loaf. Meanwhile, preheat the over to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the loaf in a heavy lidded pot for 30 minutes. Take the lid off and continue baking for 15 minutes or until the top is golden. Allow the bread to cool on a rack before slicing and serving it.
